Jeffrey Arlen Spinner, Esq.

Jeffrey Arlen Spinner is Senior Counsel to the firm and concentrates his diverse practice in the areas of matrimonial and family law, criminal defense, real estate transactions, bankruptcy, civil litigation and foreclosure defense. After earning his B.A from Ithaca College and his J.D. from Tour University Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, he was admitted to practice law before the state and federal bars of New York and Connecticut and entered the private practice of law in 1987 in Hartford County, Connecticut. In 1997 he was appointed as a Suffolk County District Court Judge and in 1998 he was elected to the first of two terms as a County Court Judge where, for twenty years, he served with distinction in the County, Family and Supreme Courts. He chose to return to the practice of law following his retirement from the bench. His vast legal knowledge and practical experience span such diverse areas as bankruptcy, foreclosure, real property, litigation, municipal law, torts, medical and dental malpractice, commercial law, corporate law, election law, insurance law, contract law, mental hygiene law, family law and criminal law. While in Family Court, he personally collected over $ 3,000,000.00 in past due child support. While in Supreme Court, he created and implemented the Residential Mortgage Foreclosure Conference Part for Suffolk County and authored over 240 published decisions, including New York’s seminal case on electronic discovery (Romano v. Steelcase Inc. 30 Misc. 3d 426, 907 NYS 2d 650). He has also served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Tour Law Center and Lecturer for the Suffolk Academy of Law. In addition, he holds certifications in automotive mechanics from General Motors, has engaged in housing rehabilitation for indigent persons in New York and West Virginia and has created and served on the board of directors of a non-profit foundation. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his family (including his English Bull Terrier), reading and travel to New England.
