Stephen J. Riebling, Esq. brings more than two decades of legal and courtroom experience to The Alber Firm P.C., representing clients in New York and Connecticut. Born and raised in Westchester County, New York, Mr. Riebling has built his career representing individuals in criminal defense and family law matters, with extensive experience before federal, state, and local courts.

Throughout his career, Mr. Riebling has represented clients facing a broad range of criminal matters, from traffic offenses and DWI/DUI charges to misdemeanors, felonies, and serious criminal prosecutions. He has appeared extensively in courts throughout Westchester County and has also handled matters in Putnam, Orange, Rockland, Dutchess, New York, and Bronx counties, as well as in Connecticut. His years of courtroom experience give him a strong understanding of local court procedures and the practical issues clients may encounter as their cases progress.

Mr. Riebling’s trial experience includes complex and high-profile criminal proceedings. He served as Lead Defense and Trial Attorney in the widely reported Lacey Spears murder trial in Westchester County. His work on serious criminal cases has required extensive case preparation, examination and cross-examination of witnesses, review of complex evidence, and courtroom advocacy.

In addition to criminal defense, Mr. Riebling has substantial experience in family law. He has represented clients in matters involving divorce, child custody, visitation, child support, family offenses, and orders of protection. He has appeared in Family Courts throughout Westchester, Putnam, Orange, Dutchess, Rockland, and Bronx counties. His experience across criminal and family law is particularly valuable in matters where family disputes and criminal allegations may overlap.

Mr. Riebling earned his Juris Doctor from Pace University School of Law in White Plains, New York, now known as the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University. Before law school, he earned two undergraduate degrees from the University of Richmond, where he was a scholarship athlete and played intercollegiate football for the Richmond Spiders.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Riebling has received recognition from legal publications and professional organizations.
